Here

So dear a woman as you, my dear,

I never thought to know.

I’m near you now in a dream, my dear,

Which l will ne’er let go.

To make our dream reality

Is up to you and me,

And l’ll do all l can, my dear

To keep you here with me.

It’s clear to me that near to me

Is still too far apart,

So l will knot you here with me

Inside my sailor’s heart.

Then come high tide l’ll stand beside

To face strong wind with cheer,

For joy and laughter, work and pride,

Will hold their own right here.

Together, here; wherever, dear,

We are to live and do,

Through clear and cloudy weather, dear,

I’ll share my life with you.
