Just you and I do read my poems,
Just you and I alone.
Our hearts and minds are their true homes,
Just you and I alone.
It matters not what others read,
Or what they like or share,
But you and I—that is my need—
That we both read and care.
It’s something like a shock to me—
This audience of two.
To realize there is one–yes, me—
And just one more—that’s you.
For you are my whole world, sweet,
And this I know is true—
The joy of life is mine, complete,
Because I write to you.
