Haiku Love

You’re the only light for me;
The sun I need not.
You are my unfailing ray.

In darkened shade I wandered.
I saw but little.
Then, you beamed upon my soul.

The world opened up wide, strange.
All was beautiful.
You passed into me—a knife,

A knife giving life and joy.
I treasured the wound.
I bled happiness.

Song soared out of my heartstrings;
Love woke, vibrated,
Turned liquid, poured to you.

Drink me, love, drink and be glad.
Consume me, my sweet.
I will inhale your live-light.
