You, My Ocean

Oh, Clarinda, you’re my ocean,
My sea of Love, my life’s emotion,
And I’m a giant drinking, drinking,
Waves and tides, whirlpools, all,
I drink you down till drunk I fall.
So drunk with you I spin, half blind,
In love with you and out of mind,
Yet feeling full with joy to burst
And drink again with greater thirst!
I need no bottled alcohol,
No barrels filled with wine;
On you, Clarinda, I do call:
My Ocean, come, for you are mine!
