My Whole Heart

O dear, my dear, my darling dear,
I’d give the world if you were here,
But had I all the world to give,
You’d be right here, its central part,
The essence of my loving heart,
To beat more strong, more song make live,
And so to give I would not start,
But keep it greed’ly, all as mine,
Nor share with some, nor even few,
Not e’en to one would I lend you!
You are my prize, my love’s rare sign—
Nay! More than sign, my whole world’s part,
Which part is whole of my whole heart,
And my whole heart is yours and mine!
