Preliminary

If you’re learning to waltz, and there’s never a fee,
If I teach you to waltz, will you waltz with me?
Oh, I see there’s no room on this small balcony;
Will you walk in the moonlight and waltz with me?
Oh, the grass is too wet and too long on the lea,
Will you waltz to that spot behind the big tree?
Oh, now suddenly, somehow, you’re alone with me.
If I teach you to kiss, will you kiss with me?
Oh, yes, my Dear Lady, it is all for free;
When you’re learning to waltz there is never a fee!
