Without Eclipse

Clarinda, love, you’re my unique,
The one and only I do seek;
To see you straight, and not oblique,
Full open eyes, and not sneak peek.

I take not glance for full romance,
No skimping, sidelong view would do,
Nor half exposure, got by chance,
Or passing, fleeting, sight of you.

Without eclipse, up close, not far,
I look to see your radiant face,
My sun, unique, and not faint star,
Beside me in your sunny place.
