A Sonnet

I have a necklace round your neck to place–
A silver one, with stones of azure blue—
I fasten it while gazing on your face
And know the truer beauty—it is you.
Your loveliness of peerless face and eyes,
The glowing rarity of full-love sight,
They shine and sparkle like a Queen’s surprise
For me your servant and your gallant knight.
Make me a Lord, I’ll proffer lips and hands
To guard you from all harshness here about,
My thoughts will warm with thoughtfulness, take stands
Against No Kisses, to No Hugs give rout.
The army of my love will clasp your throne
To reign a sovereign with yourself alone
