The Past is Past

The past is but the past,
So let the past go by.
There were some brutal hours,
That mad you cringe and cry,
But now you’ve got new powers,
So let the past go by.
The pressure and the stress,
They mounted, year by year,
But now comes happiness;
The present, it is here.
Forget the wrongs were done,
Forget the pain and strife.
You’ve got the new-day sun
And this is your new life.
The past is but the past,
So let the past go by.
