Her Loyalty

Her aging lover swept her off her feet
With his lips so warm and his eyes so sweet.
The dream of being carried, spun around,
Was in his voice of music—oh, what sound!

Her loyalty to youthful dreams was real,
Though changed by age into a soft ideal,
And she knew she had made the perfect choice
When she was swept off lightly by his voice.
