I Fall…..

O Light, O Light, O happy, happy Light!
How like a butterfly of light to me!
My spirit flutters wings at thought of thee!
You were my Subject who now my Lady are,
A butterfly that takes to sky so free
And lifts me as you rise to joyousness,
A joy so sweet, so tender—Oh, I faint!
The words inside would burst from their restraint!
You’re more to me than anyone could be,
And I’m now subject to your light, my Queen!
And if my rhymes are lost, they matter not;
But you I do not lose forever! No, no, no!
Oh, I trip and lose my grip, slip-slip and fall,
And fall and fall and fall and fall and fall!
Oh, catch me, Love, or show me where to land!
