Oh, Scarlett! (written at 4 the next morning)

Oh Scarlett dear, I love you so,
Oh, never, never, let me go.
I am your home, your Tara true;
My soil awaits the hand of you.
When blue-coats come to give disgrace
Then throw it in the Yankee’s face!
I’ll stand with you, you with me stand,
And we’ll remain the gracious, grand.
We shall not fall to nothing, nought,
But stand supreme in what we’ve wrought.
Your soul in me will be my song
To face the world forever strong!
Oh, Scarlett, dear, I love you so,
And you love me, I truly know.
