A Voice So Fair

A dazzling light has burst upon my mind,
Turned liquid gold, and poured through all my veins.
I hear clear bell ringing sweet, clarified,
Claiming me entirely with strains
Made out of laughing stars and twinkling song,
Which sings in me and brights me right along.
What is it, where, this laughter that I hear?
Is it a spirit? Is there some fairy near?
Are all these pansies nodding at my feet
But catchers of joy’s echoes fleet and sweet?
Aha! It’s here again! My brain’s a-tingl-ing!
And all the world is one white fluffy wing!
So soft I fly—to land I know not where,
Or sail forever with a voice so fair.
