Lovely Strength

Such lovely strength is my Love’s lovely face,
Such glowing, simple, honest, knowing eyes,
With eyebrow crowns so glorious, set to grace
The sure perfection of soft twins—her lips.
Ah, she’s smiling—what a joy to see
(Take in the true, deep heart of pure serenity!):
A face so like a sun with no hot heat,
Or like a morning star that’s come more near;
Dear face that I here picture (clear repeat),
And never tire for seeing face so dear.
Such living strength is my Love’s lovely mind
It shows itself in features rare to find—
A harmony of cheeks and forehead, chin,
That is the lamp of one who’s born to win.
