Because of You

Two months of you, oh, you, my dearest you,
Has so revived me that you cannot know
How low I was before you filtered through,
Pure surest gold soft shining from your glow,
Your spirit’s life, that threw its light from you,
And I did catch, and held it tight to me,
For from one glance through snow came one thing true—
That you were spark of sunlight, waiting, free,
For eyes of blindness opening on you.
“Go,” said my soul’s will in me, “with all
Your mind and heart love, and be made new,
Love and love and love till love is all!”
So have I done, and if I win not you,
Still, my single life has won because of you.
