“Tween You And Me

The last third of our lives we come upon;
What it will be is in our hands to do.
Will it be evening grey, or sunlit dawn?
It’s up to us, my dear, to me and you.
Our chance of love may never come again;
This wond’rous chance to love, to care, to bless
Ourselves with comforts joys commend,
To share each day with tender thoughtfulness,
Where fly light words on wings of happiness,
While adoration every gesture sends.
Oh, Love, my dear, my soul’s one being true,
Let us not stand apart and only see;
Time and distance were made to be broke through;
Let us tear down these walls ‘tween you and me!
