My Star

Since yesterday’s serious, full-feelinged talk,
Respect beside my love for you won’t walk,
But runs and shouts, leaps high into the air
To know that such a woman’s my heart’s care.
Yea, so proud I hold your larger character,
So proud, as eyes upon a golden boat
That push mind’s pleasure, watching how it float,
And seeing it not over-turned by wave,
Wide smiles for little ship so brave.
If so you be some small, your spirit’s tall,
And I reach up to crown your head with gold,
Your head, your life, your being, all you are,
Who matches sun with sun and star with star.
