Take It Back!

What world is this, with so much lust to kill,
Over-run by nihilists and evil will,
Islamists with their mad, blind, death-souled hate,
Leftists, left and right, who press more state
On civilizing, free-won height,—
Great men reared it with fearlessness
And courage, shining forth through darkness
The joyous splendor of their virtue’s light—
In medicine, art, high ways of travel, too,
Communication easy, swift, and true,
Spire on spire reaching into space,—
So mindless anti-lifes can rant of ants of race.
O women, men, you of good-willed soul,
Take back the world and make it clean and whole!
