If truth incites to violence
And falsehood brings on peace,
If reason and good common sense
Drive everyone to cease;
If lies and fraud more riches mine
And truth gives o’er to graves,
Then let us from the world resign
So liars cheer in caves.
Who wants falsehoods shared as truth,
On truth’s prestige depends.
Maliciously he leads lost youth
To fakery’s dead ends.
His mangled mind, his twisted soul,
Feeds on itself, till breath
Has fled his vacuum hole
And giv’n him his earned death.
