In the beginning
There was no beginning;
All things were,
And things were spinning;
Except the stars, that stand,
And flame and die,
And all their lights
Do fly and fly.
And all things were,
And are, will be,
With no beginning
Left to be.
Who wants a beginning
Wants a beginner.
Who wants a beginner
Wants to begin.
Such want is a wish
And wish is a sinner;
A beginning loser
Is such as he.
Take what is
As the ongoing;
Make what is
Part of your knowing;
Do not wish—
That’s for sinning.
See and think—
That is winning.
