The Noose

Philip MacDonald’s “The Noose” (1930) is heroic detective/adventure writing at its best. Logical, imaginative, quick and sure-acting Anthony Gethryn is at his persevering sharpest in the pursuit of justice. As with most (if not all) of MacDonald’s books the story is alive with a competent and positive sense of life. If the current news is getting you down try a Philip MacDonald martini—straight!
