The Bible puts a curse on man,
Declaring he is bad,
His knowledge is an evil thing,
His disobedience mad.
What good can come from such a book
No one has ever said;
All guilt-made readers get the hook
And still are buried—dead.
To stir no cheer, to urge no win,
No happiness sustain—
The Bible is the word of sin,
To lose it is man’s gain.
