Soul of Life

My mind and flesh are one inseparate sum
From which all sacred acts and meaning come.
My lips and hands, and eyes and loins, express
The high grand soul of all my happiness.
I am a total undivided, clean
As lush green hills in bluest sky, clean
As steel and glass skyscrapers, clean
As gushers of oil blasting, shooting free!
From my great will through my grave mind,
With my aimed hands and tools, I make
My world about me, deliberate, designed,—
Then celebrate, in joyous ecstasy,
Through pleasurings that even sleep can’t break,
My life-proud choice who lives for her own sake!
