The wings of Wright
are never wrong
when reason’s light
is your whole song.
If in you flies
a light that sings,
and all your sight
has reason’s wings,
then burst up strong
to your new height
and do the deed
your thought has won
and fly with speed
across the sun!
Be great for you,
your man-mind will
toward that thing new
on your far hill,
when all you’ve got
is vision’s song
to guide your heart
and mind along
and, beating through
your thinking brain
the words to you
are “reach, attain!”
The wings of Wright
are never wrong
when reason’s light
is your whole song!
The faint low words
of envy’s spite,
the glow’ring herds
of men of night,
give them no ear,
no list’ning worth;
they do but fear
the man of earth.
They hug the cave,
these Plato things,
and are not brave
for any wings.
No song have they
for manhood’s light;
behind they stay,
afraid of flight.
Be you unfurled,
your wings spread wide;
claim your real world
of selfish pride,
and make your mark,
your banner fly,
your torch through dark
raise up so high
that reason’s light
transform to song
“The wings of Wright
are never wrong!”
