To The Far Isle

The far-off isle of Individual Rights
Awaits one star of man’s inner heights—
That shooting Columbus, who will not fail
To hit the mark with heroic “Hail!”
And when that isle is touched at last
Shall all man’s darkness die, aghast
At all the bloody, wasting pain
That gave his clearest days a stain.
Break of the anchor of altruist night
And Sail on! Sail on! Sail on!
