Spring Love

To sway all away on the winds of spring,
Then wildly play and to gladly sing;
To swing in a dance as you prance the ground
And be all you are as you bounce and bound;
To capture the rapture of April nights
And join with a joy under lightning lights;
To kiss in the rain for a gain of bliss—
OH, what could be more than a time like this!

To sleep in the grass that is wet with dew,
Feel warm in the sun as it rises true;
To waken up her, or awaken he,
And share with that one all your history;
To feel an ideal is commencing near,
And coming together with loving cheer;
To close in your arms all the charms of bliss—
Oh, what could be more than a time like this!

With pride in your walk, and with talk of pride
You hit on a question and must decide
To sway all away on the winds of spring,
Or “Give me a yea or a nay, sweet thing!”
“If you would know true what I do confess,
I give you a ‘yes’ for my happiness.’
Oh, glorious greatness of April’s bliss,
To live and learn love at a time like this!
