The Storm

Water fell,
Wind blew;
Towers tall
Stood true.
Sandy came,
She went;
Towers straight,
Un-bent.

Comes dawn,
Men survive;
Storm’s gone,
Work and strive.
Sings day,
Springeth mind—
Man’s way,
Thought designed.

Who does work,
He wins;
Who does pray,
He sins.
Who moans, sighs,
He sinks;
Who lifts eyes
Smiles, winks.

Town strong,
City great;
Steel song
High, elate.
Hear its note,
See truth—
Never old,
Bold youth!
