Far out upon the sky she spreads her arms,
Her naked flesh the centerpiece of night.
Alone and free and naked where she stands
There is no sight above, or down, so right
So straight her body, straight her lifted arms;
Her hair unfurled by wind—a lavish flame.
Un-sacrificing cross of selfish joy,
She knows no sense of weakness or of shame.
The sky, the stars, the distant hill, the town,
Exist for her, await her simple act,
While she waits, too, exulting in that fact.
But now, oh see! She flies and dives on down!
