The One

Rare unique one are you,
Naked all the way through,
Never letting another one
Stand in for you.

You face through the night
In your very strange way;
How naked your joy is!
The sun beholds day.

Your strangeness—fierce strength—
Individual, rare,
Beams forth, my beloved one,
A light above prayer.

Assertively selfish,
Not kneeling ‘fore gods,
Your glory—your strangeness–
Breaks all of their rods.

They are helpless to check you,
Alter or change;
The meek can’t affect you—
Proud spirit of strange.

Rare unique one are you,
Naked all the way through,
Never letting another one
Make of you two.
