Flight

Oh, clustering sparrows under my window,
Chirping in impetuous delight, oh,
Yes! No note of failing, oh,
No woe-woe wailing, yes!
Just chattering gladness for light!

False sirens of sorrow may come here tomorrow,
Lost storms may come puffing to fight,
But life, in free gladness,
Here halters down sadness—
To burst up in feathery flight!
