Strike a Light

Political skies, they may be black,
But never too black for long—
When extreme men make true attack
With a rising rational song.

“Extremists for the true, unite!
Let compromise sink, be done.
Let reason be our climbing height
And re-instate the sun!

“Then Bailey let our banner be,
That Colorado strike a light—
For rights held individually—
And fire the shades of night!
