Into The Flow

Beneath my feet the gray squares flow—
Back, where I’ve been, ahead, where I go.
Flowing beside me, narrowing high,
Rectangular blocks glide through the sky.
Now trucks and cars flow by in pride,
Caressing winds along my side.
I stop at a light where aims converge
And hear the power and see the surge.
The sun is brilliant, it streams and pours,
Laughing down windows, smiling wide doors.
The mind of the city’s awake and alive
And daylight’s riding with they who strive.
The signal changes—green—I go,
On with the music, into the flow.
