Chained

I have rapped wild lips
On the door of your heart;
You have opened, and taken me in.
Could the lips of the past
Have their say, and take part,
They never had strange rappers been.

The lips of the future
Are locked up inside,
And could they want outward
Their pardon’s denied.
The judge has passed sentence,
No pity’s in store;
In the cell of your soul
I am chained evermore.

Not Gold

Miss you?
Yes, I miss you.
Could I kiss you
I’d kiss you,
Or could I hold you
I’d hold.
But could I change you for gold
I’d have not gold.

Hello

I never said goodbye to you,
And no, I never will.
Hello is in my heart to stay;
My mouth repeats it still.

“Hello” “Hello” “Hello”
Fills me day and night,
And when I look inside me
YOUR look is shining bright.

“See ya” is the nearest thing
To parting I’ll allow.
“See ya” means “I see you”
When “Later” ends “right now”.

And “right now” ‘s getting closer
As every day goes by,
Till “Hello, glad to see ya!”
Is winging eye to eye!

The Call

From pole to pole
And pole to pole
Wires soar and sing and soar
Higher, lower, up and higher
(Wire wire wire wire),

Over mountains,
Under sun;
Cross a prairie
(Smoothly done),

Pole to pole
And pole to pole;
Sing! you wires,
Sing! and run

Higher, lower, up and higher
(Wire wire wire wire),
Over mountains,
Under sun;
Fly a valley
(Smoothly done!)

Pole to pole to pole to pole to pole.
Higher mountains,
Higher sun;
Pole to pole to pole to pole.
Final hill now begun;

Pole to pole,
Pole to pole
(Wire wire wire)
Higher higher higher,
Ring!
