America I See

America I See

America the healthy land,
America the wealthy land,
America the happy land,
America I see.

The healthy land of “each day new”,
The wealthy land of “dreams pursue”,
The happy land of “I can do”,
America I see.

America’s strong hands in earth,
America’s inventive birth,
America’s accomplished worth,
America I see.

She takes and crushes rocks, drills oil;
Her tools, brand new, lighten each man’s toil;
Her men’s hard work beautifies the soil,
America I see.

America, with her homes on a beach;
America, with her towering reach;
America, with sure, level-headed speech;
America I see.

Her homes on the range, over cities, too;
Her airplanes flashing their red and blue;
Her railroads surging through and through;
America I see.

American men with heads held high,
American men with galvanic eye,
American men that do, not try,
America I see.

American women soft/hard smart;
American women with logic’s heart;
American women that fight pride’s part;
America I see.

Her youth, in all their innocense showing,
New minds, new thoughts, with knowledge growing,
Spirits and bodies full self-knowing,
America I see.

America the healthy land,
America the wealthy land,
America the happy land,
America I see.
